This film will have numerous action scenes and stunts performed by the actors. The Dravidian martial art Kalarippayattu is also featured in the film. Dancer Astad Deboo choreographed a passionate chase scene and tandav dance between Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan for the film. Indian fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee designed Aishwarya Rai’s costumes in the film. Raavan has been shot in numerous locations around India including the forests of Kerala,Ooty, Jhansi, Kolkata, Mahabaleshwar and in the Malshej Ghats in Maharashtra.

The story is about a Raavan (Abhishek Bachchan) who is waiting for a chance to take revenge on a police officer Ram (South star Vikram) who was responsible for the death of his sister. At the same time Ram gets married to his love Janaki (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan). But on the very next day of the marriage Raavan kidnaps Janaki and takes her away. Later Janaki comes to know of the real Ram and falls in love with Raavan. In the end after a fiery duel Raavan Abhishek loses to Ram Vikram. But when Ram wanted to take Janaki back home she refuses to go and stays with Raavan.
