Karnataka food and civil supplies minister Hartal Halappa resigned today after a report in a local paper alleging that the minister sexually assaulted his friend’s wife The article was published in a local newspaper which said that the incident had taken place four months ago.
Reportedly, Hartal Halappa has been accused in a news report which said that Hartal Halappa has sexually assaulted a woman in his Shimoga residence.
Following the news flash, Hartal Halappa submitted his letter of resignation to B.S. Yeddyurappa the chief minister of the state. When asked about it, Hartal Halappa told the media that he has already submitted his resignation to the chief minister and that his verdict on the matter shall be the final one. Hartal Halappa also said that the allegation charged against him is all based on vaguer grounds and doesn’t stand the test of time. He believes that it’s a conspiracy framed against him to bring bad name and spoil his good reputation.
However, the minister reportedly raised an alarm in the middle of the night forcing the friend and his family to rush to his bedroom. The minister reportedly complained of chest pain and informed the friend that he had serious health problem, including hypertension, and wanted the minister to immediately rush to the Inspection Bungalow and get his medicines from his security gunman.
Hartal Halappa said that he is confident of the fact that a bunch of BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) legislators are the brains behind this conspiracy.
