A Common Entrance Test (Asso-CET 2010) was be conducted by the Association for admissions to Health Science Courses in Private Unaided Medical, Dental, Ayurvedic, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Nursing Colleges (i.e. MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BPTh, BOTh, BSc-Nursing).

ASSO CET is a written entrance exam held by the Association of Management of Unaided Private Medical and Dental Colleges, Maharashtra (AMUPMDC) for undertaking admission in several medical as well as dental courses in both of the unaided Dental as well as medical colleges in the state of Maharashtra. All of the medical colleges participating in the exam are recognized by the Maharashta University of Health Sciences and Medical Council of India where as the dental Institutes are recognized by the by Dental Council of India where as other health sciences colleges are recognized by the corresponding Central Councils.
ASSO CET is recognized by twenty one privately owned dental colleges as well as eleven medical based colleges in the state of Maharashtra. Furthermore, there are about a total of 104 Institutes for other medical based bachelor courses, some of which include BPTh, BAMS, BSc Nursing and BOTh. The exam is held for a total of 7000 seats and thus a large number of interested candidates appear for the exam that are both from the state as well as from other parts of the nation.
